NTES & 3CX Save the Day for Absolute Hotel

Our most recent 3CX installation was for our long-time client, The Absolute Hotel in Limerick, Ireland.

Unfortunately the legacy Nortel PBX system failed without warning in the build up to one of the busiest times of the year. Our engineers arrived on-site to put in place a temporary 3CX VoIP phone system to make sure that the hotel didn’t miss out on potential customers during this busy time. This was achieved within a few hours of the failure and quickly due to the ability of the 3CX system to be implemented quickly on linux virtual environment.

After the initial temporary solution was implemented, we focused on building the full 3CX phone system for the hotel. This included Fanvil Executive phones for the administration, accounts & management teams throughout the hotel. For the bedrooms, as they were using analog phones and lines, we implemented Grandstream 48 port FXS gateways to convert these rooms to IP. Given the urgency of the situation, NTES made our excellent available to work throughout the evening and night to ensure that The Absolute Hotel had a fully functional VoIP System that they could rely on.

During the removal of the old legacy PBX system for the hotel NTES were able to do our trademark tidy up on their cabinet so that we could make it more accessible for their in-house maintenance operative. By doing this tidy-up we have ensured that future projects can be completed more efficiently by both NTES and other vendors in the future and at the same time make the systems far easier to support and manage for the hotel.

With the new 3CX system the Absolute Hotel will now be able to take advantage of the Oracle Micros Opera PMS interface to set wake-up calls for guests, and provide full billing integration.  That alongside the naming of guest rooms to ensure a more personalised experience when calling the operations team at the hotel.

Because the hotel operates a previously installed DataON cluster in a box solution from NTES, we are also able to virtualise this 3CX system, running linux, in a fully redundant failover solution.  Uptime is critical for any business, especially hotels.

NTES provide the entire solution for the Absolute Hotel.  From the Fanvil desk phones, to the 3CX PBX, the infrastructure cluster, all the way out to the actual VoIP telephone service.  Its a complete solution, supported professionally by our team end to end.
